Software Developer - Unix C/C++
In order to be considered for this position, candidate must possess the following skills:

Practical experience with C/C++ on UNIX - 3 years minimum.

Coding using C++ templates and the STL.

Experience with a UNIX development environment - including GNU compiler installation, makefiles using gmake, and managing builds.

Object Oriented Design and Patterns.
-
UNIX network programming.
-
Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle.
-
Ability to read others' code and determine its function; ability to maintain and update current code without a complete rewrite.
-
Familiarity with Boost a plus.
-
HP-UX, Eloquence, or Fiserv Spectrum experience a plus.
-
Experience in banking/financial setting a plus.
Technologies:
CVS; SVN; database related optimization; Eclipse; VMware end user mastery; HP-UX end user mastery.
Methodologies:
OOP; TDD; Simplicity; basic design patterns; design pragmatism (over vs. under engineered); source control concepts (branching, labeling); general best practices in software development (official builds, build box, etc.); maintain version control standards.

Ability to interpret, evaluate, and respond to problems and requests received from business users and know when to ask for assistance or clarification.
