This utility is designed to generate Spectrum commands from an input tagfile, feed them to Spectrum, and then monitor for proper completion.
If logic and selective override provide improved control over the batch submission of Spectrum commands. Can be used in conjunction with Database Update Utility {PPSDBUPD} for mergers and other conversions.
- Features:
- Ability to flag tagfile records as they are being completed.
- Able to process multiple commands for each tag record.
- Utilizes IF logic, even in the middle of a Spectrum command.
- Capable of intelligent override of commands. Override specific conditions while leaving others as an exception.
- Look up specific information from databases, including suffixes and ATM card member numbers.
- Performs calculations, such as check digit and end-of-month date.
- Produces detailed exception reports.
- Only the variable information needs to be in the tagfile, e.g., account and suffix. Sensitive or constant data, like Teller ID, does not have to be in the tagfile.
- Since the job formats the command string, at releases you only need to update the
job, not the tagfile.
- Member name manipulation (Last/First M to First M. Last or assembling the separate names into Last/First M).
- Submits a command to Spectrum then reads the result using only one thread of Spectrum, making Commander front office friendly.
